hi all,

1) how do i know if my air con is running at optimal level? reason i ask is if im driving in hot weather, like we've had lately, the car is exceptionally hot, maybe because of the size. anyway, the air con feels cool rather than cold

2) how do i recharge/service it? can it be done, or do specialist equipment or garages can only do this?

Yup, specialist job only mate. Try and go somewhere that will do a dye test to check for leaks as well as doing the re-charging.

Recirc air helps keep it icey cool.. rather than fresh air mode.

Get a digital thermometer on the air con output, and measure it. As temperature is often confused with humidity in aircon systems.

pollin fillter may be blocked,or low on gas.should be ice cold

where and how do i clean the pollen filter?

If you pull down the cover underneath the glovebox by the passengers feet, you will see a unit with a long cover held on with wing nut. Undo the wing nut and and pull the cover off, inside is where the pollen filter might be. Chances are it is not in there as I'm not sure they were fitted over here as standard. They are not cleanable as far as I know so it is a replacement item.
