Hi all,
Has anyone fixed the windows on a MK1 i think it is K'93.
U see, the drivers side always worked and the passenger only worked from the passenger door side......then one day my mate said his window was bust, so i just tried my switch for his window (knowing it had never worked) and blink.gif it did work. I thought that'l do for now but tried my window and it had stopped working too.
So its like the switches on my door just switched or something so i dont believe its the motor.
I was wandering before i take my door apart if anyone had experience or knowledge of this strange electronic gremlin and how do i test switches? swap them around or try a multimeter to see if they even getting a reading or......................i dunno.
Hope to hear from someone

First thing is to get another window control for the drivers side and just swap it over and see if that fully works the window.

Quite a few breaking on ebay and should cost around £20. You could also find someone near you who will let you just swap them over to check for free that your control works on their car.

You don't need to take the dorr apart to do this as it just lifts out of the door housing. A small thin screw driver should help.

Check that first before going any further. If still got the problem then let me know and I'll point you in the right direction on what to do next.

PS. Have the car been sitting around in the open air for a while??? Just got an idea on what's wrong.

Thanks Baz,
Its good to know its easy to get out, thought it'd be a nightmare - u can't see any screws in the car can you!
Just done the p/s o-ring, just got a engine light on, steve2006 gave me the codes, gotta take dash out next too, going to maplins on sat, think i can do it myself with what i saw here.
The window to fix, the aerial and errr that might be it - for now!
Thanks again & see you around
