Full Version: Caliper Face Rusting (on The 250)

Hi,

My 250 is experience rusting on the face of the caliper however the 220 I have is fine.

Is this common or an issue to be resolved?

i noticed that your locking wheel nut is rusting as well.i had all wheel nuts replaced as the chrome was starting to pitt and locking wheel nuts that were rusting plus bolts in the wheel arches at sill level,all under warranty.

Yeh, the car still under warranty. I guess I'll give the dealer a car...would they just paint or replace it?

Anyone experience cracking in the leather seats? or abit of sagging in the bottom patch?

Can rust be polished out? Calipers on the 220d is fine. Hmm

Well thay replaced on my sisters car biggrin.gif and she did not even ask, dealer seen the rust, booked another date for work to be done biggrin.gif very good service in my book biggrin.gif

It's perfectly normal, the calipers are not painted so will get light rust coating sometimes/

this is why people paint them to make them look nice and clean again

No, I painted my IS250 calipers with red Hammerite, but my IS350 calipers are aluminium not steel so are painted black with a polished face. msn-wink.gif
