I decided to try out my paddle shift gears today. I put it on 1st gear and accellerated forgetting that I was in manual mode. My rev counter went to something like 7k rpm then straight away shifted up

Just wondering if this would effect the engine/car in any way

Thank you

Yes...it makes more noise, uses more fuel and puts more stress on the engine and gearbox laugh.gif Think it changes around 6500 rpm, but not sure if it's the same rev limit as when it's in Auto ECT mode...the manual mode just holds it to the limit in every gear. The set limits must be well within the safe parameters of the design, so don't worry about it.

Hehehe. I had a play with that in a courtesy car and it all flashed up red at me! laugh.gif Thought I'd broken it for a minute! whistling.gif
maneesh
it might affect your licence if a police car happens to be next to you unsure.gif

I got to something near 7000rpm then I changed up, didn't really notice it eventually shifting up automatically
