Good evening everyone.

I've been internet shopping today and bought some Scratch X from Meguires as I thought I would give the car a good going over. Astral black is a nightmare to keep clean and shows up every tiny little swirl mark and scratch. Is it best to apply this stuff my hand or am I better off getting one of those machine's to do it? Also, if I do need a machine, which is the best one to get and where can you get them from? I take it I need to give it a good polish after applying the Scratch X. I have some Meguires Tech Wax I thought I would use. Is it also necessasary to but that blue tape on all the rubbers around the door and sunroof? Sorry for all the questions but I'm a bit lost as what to do.

I really want to give the old girl a good going over for when I take it to JAE this year.

I just did my roof on Wednesday by hand with scratch x took me about 2hours of hard effort.
All I can say with the amount of effort I put in the results were Poor.
Would try a machine polisher but not sure of the finish you would get.

Scratch X is OK for the odd mark where you can locally apply to remove but will needs lots of effort to do whole panels correctly. You really need to machine polish, use a randon orbital polisher for a beginner and use the products available on cleanyourcar but be very careful, the guys on these web sites make it look easy but they have lots of practice and knowledge. If you go there there may be someone local to you who is will to help you on your way/
