im just gettin all my gear together to have a cleaning marathon on my car as its looking a bit grubby inside and out and just wanted to know if i was using the right stuff in the right order.my paint work has quite a few swirls but a few months ago a went over it with autoglym srp (out of my birthday pack)and did a good job so gonna stick with that,
heres my order

1)wash-autoglym shampoo
2)clay-Bilt Hamber Auto Clay
3)wheels-wheel cleaner
4)polish-autoglym srp
5)autoglym extra gloss protection
6)wax-Collinite 476s Super Double Coat Car Wax
7)tyre dressing

hope its in the right order.
then its onto the inside or should i do that first
kam05
I normally clean the inside of the car first then do the outside.

Looks good mate,

I would do the wheels first and also wash again after you clay to get any residue left over, off the car.

Collintie is very good, a couple of coats will give you a few months protection.
Scorps01
I did mine a few weeks ago.

If you go to the Autoglym website, they have a free guide that they will post to you. It is a booklet with full instructions on car detailing from top to bottom and inside out and in which order. It obviously only lists their own products but is very informative.

my main question is do i need to use both autoglym extra gloss protection and Collinite 476s Super Double Coat Car Wax or are they both the same or has anybody used 1 or the other and which gives the best finish
Scorps01
I got my results with the EGP which i've used for years and is so easy to use it takes almost no effort at all for good results.
dave1
I find that SRP followed by the EGP works well. As Scorps01 says, it is relatively effortless.

I would highly recommend ZYMOL or Meguiars. I have used both, and the finish is unbelievable.
Dego
Here's how mine looked after using Meguire's clay kit, and then swirl remover, polish and carnauba wax. Was my first attempt so might get better results next time?? I was very pleased with it anyhow, even though I confess to not having an idea about detailing whistling.gif
