My mate has a MK3 and he has a warning light just come on below the fuel gauge of a red circle with loads of broken lines around it,any ideas as he doesn't have a hand book with it.

Sorry I don't have a series 3 but it sounds like the pad wear indicator so Iwould check the pads 1st and the sensors/wires.
