My 1996 LS400 on motorway trips the car has started cutting out when I slow down coming up to traffic lights. it has happened at the same location several times so having driven for around 40miles of motorway it cuts out completely when I slow down. More recently all the display panel died, no lights no aircon no power steering everything suddenly went as I was driving. It came on again when I cut the engine and restarted. I cleaned out the throttle body as previously suggested but the problem persists.

Fuel ECU - well documented fault for stalls and engine cut-outs when warm especially. However, have you got a fault relay in your fuse box that is responsible for the complete cutout?
