A quick question for those with car care knowledge.
Last week there was a clicking sound coming from my rear nearside wheel, i took the wheel off to check if there was any stones or a nail caught in the tread but nothing is there. I put the wheel back on and drove down the road for a bit and the sound has gone, but today i came off the motorway opened the passenger side window for some air and the sound is still there. Anyone knows what it might be unsure.gif

Could it be a stone inbetween your tread block of one of your rear tyres?

do you only hear it when going very slow?

could be one of the little retaining springs for the handbrake shoes is rubbing inside the disc...

You can hear either fast or slow its like having a piece of very thick tape stuck to the wheel. I jacked the car up and spun the wheel but no sound, so it only happpens when the wheel is on the ground unsure.gif

Have a really good look underneath around the wheel area but without the car jacked up. It would seem as if something is catching intermittently but only when the weight of the car is on it so you won't trace it if the car is jacked up. Does the clicking increase in relation to your speed?

Just a quick thought. on my old GS sport, the wheels had a centre thing covering the wheelnuts held by a bolt. I had a rattly noise from front o/s which was cured by putting a spring washer on the bolt to fill a small gap and stop the centre plate/cover whatever it's called from rattling. Don't know if that is relevant to the IS but maybe worth checking.

Cheers will check. Now got it booked in my friends garage to find fault & get front corner of bumper sprayed censored.gif hit and run in car park cry.gif
