FAO Servicing Dept

Hi,

My IS 200 SE Auto is due its 5 year / 50,000 mile service within the next few weeks. The car is a 53 reg and has done just over 40,000 miles in total and has a FSH by Lexus.

Could you please quote a price to include an MOT as well.

As a Gold Member of the Lexus Owners Club, is there any discount available on the servicing costs?

Have so far had 3 quotes, all include the MOT

Lexus Norwich £288 incl

Lexus Twickers £253 incl

Lexus Edgware Rd £429 incl

Still waiting to hear from Reading, Cambridge and Hatfield

Can anyone expain why Edgware Rd are so much more expensive, like £176 more than Twickers icon14.gif

Is the 50k service on the IS an A or B service. Maybe some are quoting for A and some for B.

It's an intermediate as opposed to a full service at 50k.

Lexus Edgware have quoted for the intermediate service

I have been looking at previous service docs and it seems that Edgware, although quoting for an intermediate service, have included various items that would normally only be done on a full service, eg pollen filter and coolant to name a couple.

I think they have made a bit of a boo boo.... I will get back to them for their comments

I think I would have asked for a quote without mentioning LOC Gold, and after getting quote would then have asked about LOC Gold discount to ensure that it was actually given. Too easy to quote you full price and say that the discount has been taken into account when it hasn't actually been given......very cynical of me I know, but these things DO happen.

I must admit that did cross my mind. The quote they gave me was itemised and did indeed show a 10% discount.

However things have moved on a little. I have had a second quote from them, this time from a different person in reply to my original email. He has quoted for a 40k / 5yr service (not sure if thats a typo by them) for £380 incl the MOT and discount so things are moving in the right direction.

What I fail to understand is why I have had two different quotes from the same dealership for supposedly the same service?

I'm wondering which person will be preparing your bill ?

I don't think it will be either tbh !!

Just had a reply saying the quote is correct as some items are changed on a mileage basis and some on a age basis. He suggests I check my previous invoice for things like differential oil that might not have been changed as the car would only have done around 30k at the time. I really can't be bothered with them any more.

Just had a quote from Lexus Hatfield for £279 incl plus the MOT is free for life so I think that's where I'll be going this year

I just got my Lexus. I was recommended to get a new cam belt (car is at 118k miles and has had 1 change before), how often does it need changing?

Also, It has missed 2 services and is now due for its third (was owned by executive company and did everything them selves). A full service is about £300 then?

How do I get the liquids changed in the air conditioning, its not very cold. I hear halfords can do it maybe??

Cheers, Jonno
