I've just bought my rx300 2004 and have noticed that there is a leak under the car. It does appear to be transmission oil as it's red.

Its not a huge amount - but im not sure how long this has been leakng - as the car was sitting for a while before i bought it..
does anyone know how to check the level of tranmission fluid ?

is this a common fault - should i stop driving it before its checked out?

i've just been under the car and it appears that the leak - or if it is a problem or not...?

The transmission oil is leaking from the drivers side front diff - and it appears that there is a hole in the side of the diff towards the drive shafts - is this for overfiliing or shoudl this hole be blocked off ??
