Full Version: Lexus Gs300 Wont Start

hello ,my 2000 lexus gs300 wont start at all ,did some audio work to it ,and managed to drain the battery down,now it wont start ,everything works lights,stereo,central locking ,etc etc battery now fully charged .one problem i noticed with it is that the security light on the right of the dashboard stays on all the time even when you try to start it .spoken online to a technical guy and he said try manualy unlocking it to reset it ( i did that and the alarm went off ) also checked fuses all OK ...everything is working as it should do ,it just wont fire up and run ,the technical guy said to get it tested to get codes to see whats wrong ,how do i do that ???any help would be gratefully appriciated

I seem to remember something like turning the key to the on position and leave it for five minutes, turn off and then it should be fine after that. Maybe someone else can confirm.

i will go and try that now

If that dont work, you will have to check what you have just done, as i know someone that fitted a supercharger, and when fitting, trapped some wires together and the security light was on, and didn't start ohmy.gif

you are a STAR did that and the light went out and started first time ,thanks for that i appriciate it alot

If you remove the battery, the immobiliser kicks in, and you have to leave the ignition on for 6 minutes, then turn off, and then start..

I presume yours went completely flat, or at least flat enough to activate the immobiliser..
