Hi there im new to the Lexus thing im going to be getting an IS S soon and would like to know how i would go about turboing one what i would need and from who also a ruf idea of money
sparkystav
Alrite mate,

You could be best going to the Prolex uk website and sending him a message.

He does a turbo kit for the Is200,

As for cost, it depends what you want and how much power, but your looking at a couple of Grand at least, plus a lot of time.

Hi welcome to loc mate biggrin.gif turbo, well if you fitting yourself about 3k using new parts, fitted about 4k biggrin.gif you should be ok for 240 ish bhp, if you wanting more you need to sort the standard engine ( rods + pistons )
curly
Looking to get about 210 ish iv got 2500 to 3000 pound to spend so should be ok with that then

sparkystav
Well for that sort of power you want to try and find a TTE charger kit, they come out at 200bhp.

In fact if you look in the cars for sale section, theres all the IS you'll every need in Lee_icemans Silver TTE charged IS200.

Hi, Welcome.

TTE supercharger is a better route to take for 200-220hp, and like Stav said, Lee has a lovely one for sale, think he wants just over £7k for it (bargin). Check for sale section.
curly
how much would i be looking at to do that if i was to by one my self and apart from the charger its self what is needed any internal work

TTE supercharger is bolt on kit, you dont need to do anything else to you engine (internal) but thay are very hard to come by now ohmy.gif
sparkystav
No Internal work is needed as long as you keep the boost Below 0.5, the standard setup runs at 0.3 bar.

What do you mean by how much aprt from the charger? you sourcing one from elsewhere?

Stav
Tom-18
So how do you up the boost to 0.5 if the standard set up runs at 0.3??

Cheers,

Tom.

Tom.
sparkystav
I've got a bigger pulley that i no longer need it you want to try it though, Some engines are fine with it some are not, luck of the draw.
LexusIS200Sam

I remember talking to you in southend a while ago. Liked the look of the car and the turbo, was able to get hold of a 3.0lt supra engine N/A a month ago, and thought about turbo'ing that but decided to go for a charger instead biggrin.gif

Tom-18
I am going to JAE! not sure how to get onto the club are tho?? If people wuddnt mind helping, and would like some free beers wink.gif would be great tongue.gif i could do the ECU stuff before hand anyway, just not too confident playing with the enigne!

If not then i'll have a go on saturday biggrin.gif

Tom.
sparkystav
I'll help you at JAE! would be fun. No0t much point doing the ECU beforehand the car would just run really rich.
Its only a five minute job fitting the ecu anyway,

Stav
sparkystav
Have you got fitting instructions?

there here: Cick me

If you want them.

Stav
sparkystav
I knew i had the parts list somewhere.

Here it is: Clciky again

Its an Excel document and the second tab is the bolts list and what part to use it with.

Stav
Tom-18
biggrin.gif would be good and help me get to know everyone! Might just have to hold out till the end of the month but accept the insurance quote so i dont pay more after it expires tongue.gif

Cheers Stav that excell one is great will check 2nite if i have all the bolts there as alot of them are still on the parts so will identify and bag the ones in the box biggrin.gif

Tom.
sparkystav
Not a problem mate,

So has anyone successfully run a relaible car with the bigger pully, (on standard internals,) then?
sparkystav
Yes, Gord had his green one running with a standard pulley.

And HyperSR have done a few with the bigger pulley.

Well my Dad asked me today when i was finally going to get the Supercharger fitted to my car as its currently sitting in the kitchen! I said hopefully this weekend at JAE with the help of you guys!
He wasnt happy, he has told me to have it booked in to a garage and fitted Professionally! I cant really argue with him as he did give me the money to buy it! Has really censored.gif me off tho!

So does anyone know of a good (reasonably priced) place to get it done??

Cheers guys,

Tom.

I tried to change the manifold to the De-Cat one this weekend but it wouldnt come out as the Cats were getting caught on the Steering colum bit! then started to rain so i had to leave it in! Just seems to be taking ages to get it all on the car lol!

Worth a try mate whistling.gif and if i remember right you have to seperate the steering from the lower joint to fit the manifold smile.gif I did that job on Lee-iceman's lex when we fitted his S/C at my brothers house smile.gif

Just noticed were a bit offtopic.gif maybe a good idea to start a new topic if you want to find out a bit more oops.gif
