Welcome mate,
You dont have to take them off, just mask off the disc around them to stop you going over.
And High temp resistant paint is best, Hammerite is good.

Hello matey, its a very easy job to do and does tidy up the calipers, I and many other members have used hammerite smooth finish paint which does a good job, When i did mine i left the calipers on the car which made it easier to do as you dont have to support them in another way and lets you put the wheels back on once you've painted them so they can dry!
Just make sure you give them a good rub off with a fine wire brush or sand paper before you start to paint, I also used a brake cleaner to make sure they were nice and clean, Then i put a set of the Lexus caliper decals on, which are available from the LOC shop if you want a set

Yeh red does look good on the blue but there's a lot of choice in colour combinations? i've also seen blue cars with yellow, blue, gold, black for a few idea's

Match the car so don't stand out too much but it's all down to personal preference.

We back on this Wozza.
Didn't paint them blue because of that it's because I wanted them to tie in with colour of the car but blue is the far superior colour

Many members have used Hammerite smooth on their calipers, including me.
Seems fine so faron mine.... (about 4 months)
I have heard nothing but good reports for longevity as well as looking good.

I've done two of these caliper jobs now and Hammerite smooth is the daddy but preparation is the key , if its rusty underneath its gonna show and look nasty , do it with a wire brush tthen a finer wire brush and get into all those nooks and crannies , if you have a local Partco or parts place that supplies the trade go to them and buy a aerosol can of brake cleaner and befor painting spray liberally with that , it will evaporate in seconds and leave you with a no dust , no oil base then whack the paint on , I laid coat after coat as soon as the first one was tacky and I masked nothing , all done with a brush and if you lay it on you should get a powder coated sort of finish .
Regards
Paul.
