Picking up a 07 rx400h se-l with the levinson stereo , Will it play dvd+rw s with mp3s on (in the 6 disc changer) ? if so do they need to be in files ? eg - 80s , 90s , etc

I'm not sure about the RX, but I believe the system is the same as in the new IS and GS, both of which will not play MP3s off DVDs, only CDs.

A major oversight in my opinion, but I guess it's better than nothing.

I can confirm that the '08 RX400h does not play MP3 files from DVD even with the Mark Levinson system (also the same issue in the LS460).

Interesting as I copied some MP3's straight to the CD-R's as per the book and the DVD System would not read it, despite the book telling me it would read them like windows explorer would, it works when you create the audio CD from MP3 but I just want to dump a load of MP3 files onto a disc a play randomley. Any advice? Books are useless as are the dealer.......same dealer that told me Motorola phones work but the don't.

It could be a variety o factors such as firmware having been upgraded since the manual as written - that sort of thing that in production vehicles this functionality is not available - like the 400h does NOT have 'LW' in the radio but is still chock full of gadgetry - I mean WTF I want to listen to Test Match special!
