I have a problem with the touch screen in my 99 GS300 SE.
Sometimes when starting the car the touch screen stays black (although still back light) and nothing works (at all)
Sometimes this problem is a little different and asks me for the security code and goes into the Sat Nav screen, and work fine.
What seems to stop this is turning the ignition key one click until I hear the aerial start to go up and then start the engine. If I just turn the ignition on the touch has no problems, it's only on starting the car.
There is a small area of discolouration on the “rear screen” button and on the touch screen surround, where someone has sprayed some type of cleaner onto it, but the button works and doesn’t seem to trigger any problems.
Any ideas of what might be the problem or does anyone know someone who could take a look at it, I'm in the Brighton area.
