Hi all,

I have a IS200 auto and I am having some problems, the car stalls when I stop and the car is making strange noises when it's switched off
also when I start her there is a smell of petrol.

If I keep the revs on around 1 then it's fine but if I stop for any reason it just cuts out and if I plugin my ipod transmitter the car will sometimes cut out
when I am driving !

If I leave the engine running I watch the battery level go from 10 and below 9 then cuts off.

I was told to replace the battery which I did and all was fine although the management lights were on.

I had a mechanic look at it and he said it something to do with the Idol switch ??? he cleaned it up and the management lights went off and all seemed
fine but the problem has started again.

If I leave it for a couple of days the battery is flat

Apart from that all is normal.

Unfortunately I have lost my job and I just can't afford to pay someone to sort it out so I was hoping someone could advise me on what the problem is and how to I can fix it.

Thanks in Advance

Steve

No not had it checked, would that cause the above problems ? Something is draining the battery rather than it's not charging.

I think it's something else but I am no expert.

The only thing that makes me think it's not that is it's been nearly 6 months from when I had new battery on and it's started again.
Could the alternator be the case still ?

and whats the smell of the unburned fuel, could that be to do with it ?
Tx again chaps
