would it be advisable to charge an engine with these miles on it or would this be the end of it. also witch kit would be most economical for everyday driving ect. never drove a supercharged car but i no if you want you can keep a turbo car off the boost to make it more useable fuel wise and a nice kick when it comes in. does a supercharger behave similar or is it constantly wanting to go.

I'd suggest def getting the Cam belt done and a service before its fitted.

And you can stay off Boost with a charger as well to be more economical, though once youve got one you won't want to stay off boost wink.gif

Just need to find one now.

depends on how the engine has done the miles !
a well serviced cared for one wouldn't be a problem
a worn thrashed not serviced regularly engine and it will probably be the nail in the coffin

a supercharger is on all the time but there is no "wanting to go" just a bit more power when you need it, fuel consumption is marginally more but not that drastic
off boost with a turbo should be up to about 3000 revs, if you want to drive below those revs, its going to take a while to get anywhere !

so the charger would prob be less harsh on the engine. thats problem you never no how the previous owner drove it but it has full history an i just got my belt, idler and tensioner and water pump for 177 all in just need it fitted now. guy near me is an ex mazda technician an will put the lot on for 100 quid so not to bad.

Similar sort of mileage to my car when I put the Super charger on. Think a few members have fitted them at around the 100k mark and had no problems as far as im aware. Just so long as the car has had regular services I can't see it being an issue. Not so sure on the Turbo mind. Not so many of them around...

Mine has had a charger for the last 15,000 with no worries, it's @ just over 90,000 miles now.
