Apart from using hot water and a soft brush, is there any other way to remove tree sap from bodywork?

carlack is the one that i use,it is durable and protects very well against bird droppings and very good vfm, available at clean your car .co.uk.

Autoglym do a specific product for this.. i think its onyl £3-4

I found that Meths did the job. But what it seems to do is thin the gum out, so a good wipe off is needed, or you get a bigger patch of thin gunk on the car. (Birds land on it and get stuck? unsure.gif )

Once you've carlack68'd (Sealant glazed) and P21S'd the bodywork, you only need simple car shampers and luke warm water...it just dissolves off.

Brillo Pad !

Don't SAY that!! My neighbour (lady) used a kitchen scourer (nylon) on her Beemer Model 1-whatever, just prior to selling it! Had to hide it under polish!! Still winces at the memory! It was black too! cry.gif

The M.D. at a place I used to work had 1 of the unskilled lads wash his car whenever he was on our site. 1 lad actually used wire wool to remove various tar spots from BMW 7 Series about 2 months old......still not sure if he was stupid or did it deliberately.

I'd say he was deliberately stupid - but then again, he could've been just stupid stupid.
