I am currently living in Okinawa Japan. I got me an Altezza and i want to take this back to the states whenever i get stationed there... i have contacted the japanese and toyota dealership to see if the altezza is crash test safe like the is200. I was told it wasn't and would have to change the parts before sending it or i would be unable to import the car. now i can send the car for free through the military. but getting it off the dock will be the problem. i am looking for a list of items that need to be replaced (safety specs) in order to make it legal to take it to the U.S. does anyone have this list and if anyone was succesful in sending this car please let me know how i can do this. if there is no legal way to do this i will have to resort to chopping the car and paying someone to ship and assemble the car. thats costly and i would rather the car not go through everyone's hands... i have about 2yrs left here in japan..
