Full Version: Depo Led Rear Lights Fitted And Now Got A Bulb Warning Light On Dash.

Hi guys,

I installed some genuine Depo rear lights today on the back of the Aristo today. They look  and everything seems to work, BUT I have a bulb warning light on the dash now! I thought the genuine Depo lights were supposed to have built in resisters? That is why I bought them because I didn't want to have to mess with having to wire in resisters like you do with cheaper ebay lights.

Have any other Aristo/GS300 owners experienced these problems with genuine after market Depo lights?

Thanks,
Anees

where did you buy them and at what cost Anees ?

Try getting some 50W Load Resistors and fitting them or maybe 25W ones if your lights are supposed to have them in (see pic below)
...... dunno which wires used on an Aristo though cry.gif

Just put in load resistors in E-Bay search biggrin.gif loads to choose from

Had my DEPO's in for 18 months with no problems...........

Is your rear fog light connected up to them ?
Anees
laugh.gif You guys know me too well....... BUT FOR ONCE they were not from ebay! biggrin.gif

I had heard too many stories about poor quality copies on ebay

I think Dave is on to something however. The old lights did have two wires running from them (the red wires for power were tapped into) and that dissapeared somewhere into the boot. I thought the wires were power for the rear fog light but it still works fine :s

What do you think those wires could be then Dave? I thought fog light, but the fog lights still work? I'll try and take some pics but I am still at work and by the time I get home its going to be pretty dark.

PS Don't you need your fog light to pass the MOT?

I was up at Charlesworth Motors today and Simon and Steve had a quick look for me. The two wires that I talked about were nothing to do with anything lighting related at all. They were just a power feed for some aftermaket audio bits on the car. The bottom line is that they had nothing at all to do with the rear lights. On my BMW I have LED rear lights too and with those you are actaully supplied with large resisters, these don't seem to have anything and look very similar to the units Vazoosh bought from ebay.

Have other people with these lights had trouble?

Thanks,
