Hi all
Just bought my 1999 GS300 sport and have done a couple of long runs (motorway averaged 78 MPH) and for 221 miles I used 8.8 gallons of fuel does that sound ok I know they are renowned for being a bit thirsty.

My series 1 GS300 sport with 146000 on clock was giving around 28/30 on m/ways at that sort of speed and didn't have vvti. My GS430 is giving around 28 on m/ways at around the same speed. Your figure of 25mpg seems a little low to me , but could be different driving styles.

I match what dave says above....25 mpg sounds a little thirsty - I get 27/28 out my 430 on a motorway run - and thats not hanging about either.

I can get 25 mpg on my drive to work in the morning on the A5 if I take it easy....thats with quite a few stops and starts

I've got a 2003 GS 430 and get about 18 MPG around town and about 30 on the motorway.

Since running on Super Unleaded recently for a few tanks and doing the ECU reset I've been getting around 20 MPG around town. I'm back on Unleaded and am still getting around 20 at the moment.

I found that topping up the gearbox oil improved things a bit but I'm averaging 23.4mpg over the last 3K miles, I've achieved a best of 27.6 mpg on one tankfull.

I' d like to think more can be achieved but I'm starting to doubt it, as I've got no MIL lights on (so presuming no sensor faults) I've checked that all the brakes aren't binding , tyre are pumped up and the had the tracking done and even tried advancing the ignition a couple of degrees.

No major improvements so far

I'm open to suggestions

Matt
