i have a annoying 'thing' with my IS. on these cold days when i put the side windows down to wipe the overnight mist / light rain etc off the windows dont wipe clean
is this only my problem or is it a common IS thing?

Yep I haven't come across an IS that clears the windows when they come down - I actually prefer it as after washing the car, it doesn't smear them with the damp runners when you open them.
Just stick some rainaway or something on them and they'll usually be clear

It's an IS thing, I actually quite like it, means there's less chance of you scratching your windows when they go down. I've noticed that when you wind down your windows, the glass shifts inward by a few milimetres. That's why they don't clear.

thanks for clearing that up for me. i thought i had a dodgy 1 as all the cars i've had have done that.

Yeah i've noticed it too. just wipe the corner by the mirror with my hand before i get in.

just use rainX on your windows
