My Tezza is due a service and i'm thinking of doing it myself :)

Ive already changed plugs to Denso Iridium, but want to try the rest...

Just a few questions :

These are the parts i think i need, please tell me if i'm missing some that can be changed by an amateur and any useful info you have please ? :)

Oil filter - any point in getting a sports filter? or just a standard Toyota filter ?
Air filter - Ive tried to find an Apexi panel filter, but i can't find anyone who sells them  any ideas ?
Oil - Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 semi synth - how many litres ?

Has anyone done the service and would like to give me a walkthrough ;)

Appreciate the help and advice

Cheers :)

I'm sure ProLex or Fensport will be able to find you the parts you require

Never seen the point of a sports oil filter myself. You can get a genuine Toyota one for about 8 quid.

I had a HKS panel filter in mine and at £35 I thought it was a waste of time, Im back to using the standard Toyota one for £12 until i get my new exhaust fitted and then go for the Apexi induction kit.

As for oil I find 5W-30 Fully synthetic works well. The oil filter is easy to get to when you remove the crap guard. You dont need to remove it to get to the sump plug. Im using a magnetic sump plug to catch any bits of metal the filter misses. Havent done another oil change since I used it so dont know if it has picked anything up yet. As for the air filter just release the 3 locking springs, take the cover off and there it is. I cleaned the box up a bit with some alcohol and replaced the gaskets also.

The K&N air filter on my IS200 is great. Slightly helps the mpg I think, plus makes a slightly nicer noise. And will be good value for money considering it will pretty much never need replacing, just cleaning.

Great :)

Thanks for the info guys :)

You can also use a Celica oil filter. It's a longer filter so has a larger filter area.
