hi all

i took my car for a drive since the radiator incident.

when i got in i noticed this



is boot opening latch supposed to protrude like this. i can't remember but it looks odd against the other latch. the hand book shows it flush. can someone check on their car to see , as i suspect the mechanic may have got heavy handed.

anyway if it is not supposed to be like this, can anyone let me know how to put it right

any ideas how to put right?

i can't force it down because there is a lip blocking it from behind. the latch does open the boot, but i want it flush back, is it possible to take the casing off that goes around the petrol cap, master lock and boot latch?

Hmm, I build computers and sometimes get faults like this with power buttons with users (or in your case, the engineer) being too heavy handed. It may have just come past its 'stop'. There's a chance that giving it a good push will get it back behind the clip, however it may also damage the switch. It's up to you if you do this or not.

Mine is flush, but on a previous one the lever was just like yours and worked fine, nothing serious mate
