Hi,
Just want to ask if anyone knows if a TV licence is needed if i decide to install them freeview boxes for the car, you know the ones...flea-bay Item number: 290268921616 ? Also anyone got one installed in their car and if i need any additional equipment (aerial booster etc). I already have a 7" screen with AV input not being used.

i do believe that it comes under your home tv licence

I thought you already had Freeview fitted ? Maybe wrong ?
Anyways the one you mention on ebay aint worth it IMO mate, you need the
diversity ones which are about £100 upwards to get decent quality.
Re TV licence, I agree with Aaron, but read the back of your licence as it does explain
what is covered or not. Any truckers would also know for certain I suspect.

Yeah covered under TV licence, I used to have one of them cheap boxes as well.
You need a decent aerial outside the car to get anything on them on the move.
IMHO unless your spending a fair few pounds their not worth it.

I always thought that any fixed TV in a car needs its own licence, any device that is removable can be covered under the house TV licence. To be honest it would be difficult for them to catch you.

But if the TV is an integral part of the car, then the car IS the TV, and is powered solely by internal power (i.e. the car battery). It's just a two-ton portable telly!

I've got the Alpine one with two aerials. It's the best one IMHO, I even get signal at 70-80mph in certain areas!
