Hi Folks.

I should be very grateful for any advice on replacing my plugs.

At the last service, garage said they should be change shortly (car's done 119,000). It used to be such a simply job on my previous old bangers but guess that on my GS there's a lot more to it - certainly looks that way! Can anyone point me to some step by step instructions please? Do you think it's a job for a rank novice such as myself or should I leave it to the professionals and are any special tools etc. required? Also do you have any views on NGK iridium plugs advertised on Ebay priced at £35.70 for the six? Questions! questions!

Thanks muchly in anticipation!

Best wishes and an early Happy Christmas.

Derek

Hi Derek,

I cannot tell you that I have done this job, only that according to the technician at my local dealership, it is a real sod. More of a challenge than the timing belt change with no commonality of work between the two tasks.

My dealership are doing a number of jobs this week on my GS and the quote for the plugs inc labour & VAT is £ 220. This includes the plugs at £11 each and the labour time is 1.4 hours.

Bit late to this one but in case it's handy...

There are a couple of DIYs on this over at CL

Sounds like it's a mid-level difficulty type job.

Denso or NGK iridium plugs should be fine, or if you want something fancy get Torque Master (only from the mfr http://www.extremespark.com/)
