Not a major problem but just interested to know if anyone has any ideas on the following and whether I'm likely to be looking at major in-garage time.....
For the last week or so, when car is idling, there is a strange noise coming from the passenger side of the engine. Appears to happen all of the time (i.e. not just at cold engine time)
It is almost as though there is a 2nd engine in there ticking away and is definitely NOT the normal engine / diesal rattle (this can be heard as well)
I'm no mechanic but I was wondering if it could be the water pump? Sounds a pump kind of sound to me anyway?
Car is in for 40k service next week so will get them to check out anyway.....

I have a similar problem with my IS, I can hear a strange noise when the speed is about 120 and I drive on the sixth gear.
Do you find it similar ?
