Hello,
I have just seen a few news stories on the new face lifted Is220/250. They all mention the new car having "improved sat nav" with several new features, now is this going to be new hardware or is it simply a updated 08/09 DVD?, and is this updated disc available now?
If anyone has any information I would appreciate it.

Lexus has assembled an impressive Satellite Navigation Pack, available as an option (£1,825) on IS SE and SE-I models.
The pack comprises:
* Pan-European satellite navigation system
* Seven-inch VGA display
* Touch screen operation
* Bluetooth connectivity
* 13-speaker audio system with six-CD changer
* Rear parking monitor
The Multimedia Pack option for the IS SE-L (£2,710) provides the same features, but with a 14-speaker Mark Levinson hifi system with 5.1 surround sound and six-DVD changer. Yep I'm sure its the same, just with the updated DVD that allows inputs while on the move and has no "I agree" screen.
Can the new disk be used in a 2008 model, then?

Yep shouldn't be a problem, easiest way is to check on lexusmapupdates.eu to confirm the right disc for your car.

I spoke to lexus last night, and they told me "no there are no hardware changes, it is just a updated DVD coming out in December" so thats good news. They only said "The only new Sat Nav system will be incorporated into the new IS250C which will be a HDD storage type".
Does anyone know a more acurate date in December when these disks are released. Such a pain lexus wont just get you the "latest disk" with out your current disk ID, even when you know it is the 2007 disk. Its such a pain to eject.
