hi all my is200 sport on an X plate has developed a kind of rattling-tapping noise.

it is intermittent and most noticeable when the car is in neutral and ticking over.

it can also be heard when driving at slow speed on a quiet road.

however the slightest press on the clutch stops the noise completely.

when in neutral you can hear the thrust bearing but it has done that since i bought it 4 years ago again it goes when the clutch is pressed.

has anybody had this problem or know wot is causing it???
