Key fob nearly 3 years old when battery went flat. No probs use the spare, that lasted all of a week. Been informed by a electronics mate that as soon as you put a battery into a key less fob it is constantly active sending out a signal so although it may never be used it is still using up its battery power. Another little thing Lexus forgot to tell you. Moral of the story is have a spare battery but don't fit it till required.

Had several Toyotas when they are serviced the fob battery has been changed - I would expect Lexus to offer the same service ??

They do. Both of my Lexus (200 & 250) have new batteries installed in all the fobs, including the spare(s) at every annual service.

Once again shows how dealerships are so different, Lex Cambridge service charges are one of the highest & have never been offered a free battery change even on the major service.
