Any ideas?

When starting the car this week, the engine revved on ignition, but made an 'unhealthy' noise. I can only compare this to my memory of a diesel being heavily revved when cold. After a brief moment it idles as normal.

It's only happened twice this week - but it all came after flicking the gearbox into reverse immediately after ignition.

It's a 3 year old GS300.

I found that pressing the ignition button, once, and then twice, and then a third time with the foot on the brake resulted in no 'unheathly noise'.
