Seems like Jae are struggling to give out dates and location for this years JAE.

What is the latest that they may book before cancelling this year meet.

If it not on do any members have any idea's what we can do instead?

I am hoping we still attend Mersea island
DJ Wozza
I think the uncertainty really hurts the event with the big companies getting behind it.
I liked Mersea as a location. Ahh well.
cameron is200sport
would be sad if it does not go ahead.its the high light of my year, and am was realy looking forward to going this year.

TBH i can see it if they leave it too long someone might jump in and create another, its not that hard to get venues what is hard is having the capital to book it.
aido
If it does drop through I wouldn't be surprised if Jamie Rigby organised something as he's had some successful ones at Haigh Hall I think it's called?
sparkystav
"Japan North"

yeah he's organised that a couple of times now. was a good day out.

Not sure about stepping up to organising a whole weekend on the scale of JAE though
DJ Wozza
Hmmm not too sure how many members would attend either TBH, bearing in mind the way he left the club
by destroying threads when he couldn't get his own way. The guy is a proven liar, and the fact he is now
called Unregistered_User, though most of his posts still has 'Jamie' at the bottom  so I can't see why
he had that changed ???? Jamie we still know it is you !!

C'mon John Fuggles sort it out asap fella, we love JAE !!!!

Just wanting to book time off work so I know I wont be away offshore.

Yes we did have all this last year, but John fuggles pulled through in the end, and we found out a lot later in the year.

According to his post this morning he is looking at 2 venues today, so lets hope we hear something very soon.

As Barrie has said, mr fugggles isnt one to let it drop, he did us proud last year, im sure he can do it again
sparkystav
^^^^ i agree give the man time, he will pull through.
Mr Mole
Hope we can get it for the same dates as last year.
Would not be the same if it was later on in the year and we got snow and not the sun

Same here mate, John Fuggles seems to be under fire at the moment from a few clubs  He pulled through last year and think a few of the clubs should give him a bit more respect for what he's doing :)
DJ Wozza
Seemed a real nice fella when I had a chat with him last year @ JAE :)
sparkystav
Apparently these are the two sites their looking at:

http://www.angleseyshow.org.uk/sgrsit.html

http://www.kentshowground.co.uk/About+Us/How+to+Find+Us

Stav
inicol63
If these are the selected site's then there is only one choice for me. :shutit: :whistling:

I will not go to the Anglesey site as this is to far for me.

But i would be happy to attend the Kent show ground.

Why is Mersea not happening?

What are the rest of you guys choice of location?
sparkystav
Apparently the council at Mersea threw out the booking i heard.
redz_UK
wouldnt the centre of the country be better??

there's donnington, northampton etc all with big show grounds

aido
I liked that place before Peterborough, said it before in another thread and someone told me what is was called but I already forgot it again!

Apart from Mr Mole  He's got a journey no matter where it is!

Saying that something up Scotland way would be ace, we had a LOC Scotland meet a few years back except no one from Scotland turned up - think I was the closest and that was travelling from Derby at the time

Beautiful scenery and a great drive too!
DJ Wozza
I'd be very happy with Kent Showground :D but it isn't very central ?
aido
Shame somewhere like Silverstone isn't an option once it stops hosting F1 as imagine that - make a full weekend of it and they could put stuff on to watch in the day - drifting, racing, etc etc it would be a good weekend!

I've only ever been to Silverstone once and that was for the D1GP when a few of us went two or three years back?

Ah that's it, the Aquadrome, that was good there!

Yes was very good place :D
johnboy
Kent is better for me but wherever it is i will be there.

Unfortunately it cant be on everyones doorstep, and a lot of the problem is finding somehwere that will agree to hold the event. which means the location isnt so much of a priority.

Its ok saying, a central location, but even when we have meets in a central location people still dont turn up.

Lets wait and see what happens once we have a def location
Bazza
Kent suits me as well :D

people moaned that Mersea was too far away, so there will be even more moaning if it was to move to Kent :whistling:
johnboy
Looks like JAE 09 is def happening, a venue has been found, just awaiting confirmation of details :D
aido
Well it says more than 100 acres - Kent Showground is over 200 acres so wonder if it is that?

Would sound about right I'd say?
Mr Mole
No matter where it is I'll be going .
Dont mind the long drive in the Lex.
And if we did not come what would everyone do for cakes
Will the new place be closer for me ??
And will we still be able to have a day trip up to WIM the day after the show.
Come on the suspence is killing me.
aido
If it's Kent it's further away for you pal

If we don't get any European members turn up you've already won your first award :D
Mr Mole

Then all I need to do is win the raffle again

So how much further is Kent ?
aido
So how much further is Kent ?
It's less than 40 miles overall difference, but I bet that's a trip to the local shop for you lot up there isn't it :P

That's if it is Kent though, we'll see :D

..:: Edit ::..
Bloody hell you've got 233 miles *just* on the M6 :o

Thats about the same as last time so no problems there then John.
sparkystav
As long as theres room for the Footy champions to strut their stuff again!!!
Gord
I have big field at the back of my house :D 5-a-side court, hotel & pub just down the road, i have the key for the gate :D
aido
Hotel & Pub - that'll do - what's the date
inicol63
Only problem for Adrian is the toll both  unless he give them a cake each way :driving: otherwise it £1.50 each way.

That if it is in Kent....

We need to get our footy team training early.

So come on guys get the running shoes out dust of those cob webs....

Wozza for the tug of war team who joining him? wozza don't pull any muscle this time....
aido
I'll be on Wozza's side for that one :D

Which muscle did he pull? If it's the one eyed trouser snake I'll make sure I stand behind him for the tug of war then!
Steviewevie
Great news that it sounds like they've secured a venue for 2009, looking forward to hearing the dates soon ! :D
inicol63
Not sure it ws his one eyed snake as it never been seen :hehe: :hehe:
