hi
i want to buy a 2000 v300 after the facelift with 147000kms. what kind of maintenance can i expect?
aido
I thought you already had an Aristo?

At that milage you would possibly need to replace the turbos if they haven't already been done but they may be ok, would need investigation.

Apart from that it would need a major service if it hasn't already had it - cambelt, water pump, all tensioners, aux belt, possibly the crank pulley if it's not in the best condition, suspension may also need looking at as one of my springs snapped at that sort of milage! Also I'd assume you'll need to have all fluids in the car replaced - diff, gearbox, and engine oils and also probably swap out the thermostat and the coolant? Also probably worth replacing all the air filters too?

Does the car have a history?

the car is still in japan.how can i inspect the turbos?

You'd be better off speaking to some like BodleyTunes over on Club Aristo as he seems to have a lot to do with the importers.

Without taking the pipework off to see the turbos you can't inspect shaft play, all you can do is pop off the intercooler piping to see if there's oil in there or if the car smokes a lot then it would be an indication that the seals have gone.

Saying that though if it's a 2000 you'd hope it would be ok it's just got a lot of milage on it is all.
