Well... I watched the Gran Prix of course, then washed the car...

.. and after PeeJ's encoragment, and Zee's ridicule... I gave the headlights another go...

Okay... being 6pm at night meant the front was shadowed, and the photos really don't do it justice.... It looks great! :D

However, one slight problem... I had a part left over:

[img]http://www.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/albums/album01/JDM_04.jpg[/img]

It had a three-pronged plug connected to it, and there is no way to connect the plug or the part to the JDM headlights?????

I wondered if it was an earth for the metal surround of the standard headlights.. but if anyone can tell me what it is, and what to do with the unattached plug, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Ian.

Oh... and I didn't take the front bumper off, I took the grill off, which gave me access to the clip, and the grill surrounds had enough 'play' to get the lights in and out.

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :D :P

Well... I'm happy!

Here's a better view:

WELL DONE PAL!!! :yahoo: I'm proud of you - and the results look superb....! B)

The extra bit you have left over is for the electronic light adjustments which are not present on the JDM units you have now fitted. Just keep it safe in case you ever revert back to the standard lights...

Enjoy....... :D

Thanks Zee,

So the little button to dip the headlights doesnt work anymore then????

(not that I ever used it! :yahoo: )

Thanks for your support... couldn't of done it without you guys.

No, the headlight adjustment switch inside won't work mate - but once the headlamp beam is set, you should never really need to adjust them anyway.

And no problem mate - it was your hard work that made it happen pal.... well done! ;)

Hmmmm...

Well, the next thing is a set of re-furbished alloys...

Followed by smoked rear lights to match the headlights..

The sport exhaust trim....

And thinking about a short JDM arial and painted calipers...
Steve ( West Mids )
You should find that lot easy after doing the fronts :)
Parthiban

I got these from SimonSkippy... (second hand)...

As for getting them through the dealer.. I'm not sure... but if you go Gold, I'm sure there's an approved supplier you can order them through.. :D

No, I don't have the fogs...

And to be honest, apart from one or two 'fiddly' bits, the lights were easy to do...
MsW
Well done that man!!

ya know im suprised, i have a 2002 is300 here in america and i dont have any switch to adjust the headlight beam up and down... do i? where is it?
Monster-Mat
you dont have it fitted in the US
Fidgits
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that because the IS300 has HID lights...

.. and by US law, any car with HID/Xeon lights has to have an automatic 'dipping' function?
