I'm looking at buying a (used) IS200 SE or Sport - love the car but can't adjust the drivers seat low enough! I've tried tilting the seat back but then can't reach the wheel (and not comfortable). Have sat in 3 cars now & spent 10 mins today in the showroom trying to get it right.

I'm convinced I'm missing something here - I'm 5'11" and have never had a problem with other cars. Am going back on Thurs and will have another play with the 'large button' ([url="http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=50&t=2756&hl=headroom"]in this thread[/url]).

What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions (including doubts about my IQ) gratefully received.

im 6"3' and have no problems, maybe you have a long head (ala Tefal)

there is a technique, place some washers under the front 2 mounting bolts, this raises the front of the seat, but actually lowers the rear of the seat squab aswell

Thanks Supracharged - everyone tells me I've got a big head - guess this proves it! Nice to know there is a 'plan B' - hate to think this would be a showstopper.

Anyone whos done this know how much drop is possible?

a friend did this in Holland, he is 6"7

the drop is varible, and not a fine art........the drop isnt a drop as such as all you are doing is moving the front of the seat squab up......and in relation it seems to fit better with taller people, as i said, i have no problems

Correct me if I'm incorrect, but the SE and Sport both come with sunroofs don't they?

So what's the problem then?

I'm 6' .... ok ok, 5' 11¾" and a bit! Same problem.

Opened the sunroof blind + got a haircut.... problem solved!
