heya people!

For a while i thought my exhaust was on its way out but today was in a garage and it seemed quite obvious that my heatshield over the tail pipe had become super loose and has been ratlling over it. Does any one have any pointers to how i can re-secure it or do i have to buy a new one and also how is the heat shield normally attached ? Its been bugging me for ages !!

The components are shown in the diagram here. I presume you're talking about the "Heat Insulator" in the diagram shown towards top-right ? Looks like it attaches with four bolts. If you're missing some of those, then I'm sure the parts will be available from Lexus/Toyota.

Edit - the part number for the bolts is 90179-06171, approx £1 each (total of four for the rear heat shield).

I was driving home last night and heard several strange exhaust type rattles. When I got home I moved the tailpipe from side to side and heard all sorts of metal to metal sounds. When i inspected the rear of the exhaust I could see that the heat shield has literally broken (circular) around 2 of the rusted bolts, and is hanging down on one side. Does anyone know how I go about replacing them?
I note that Steviewevie has supplied the bolt part number.....

Thanks Asi, it becomes a little embarrassing when people turn and look at your car, but not just because it sounds nice......rattle, rattle.
