I've noticed a 'ding!' audible alert when applying the handbrake just a fraction too early when the car is coming to a halt. I also heard it the other day when a passenger opened their door a fraction before the car had stopped.

I think it would be more appropriate to play a "Oi!", as it sounds like the car is voicing its disapproval!

Handy though these warnings to let you know you've done something wrong like left the hand brake on or one of the doors isn't properly shut.

Nige.... you've been trying to handbrake turn again havent you :P

Sorry Nigest - the IS200 is TOO refined to say "OI" :P

Its more like- "excuse me but do you realise you've left the pukkin hand brake on AGAIN"

It sounds just like the waitress call signal on an airplane, reminds me of nice holidays B)

Whatever happened to those synthesized voices that used to alert you...? My step-mum used to have an ageing Renault 25 V6 that she bought in France (for use on the continent, LHD & all that). Anyway, there was this female version of Stephen Hawking that would pipe up if you drove off with a door not closed properly

Hey, would be cool if they could link the sat nav lady in to the audible alerts... :yahoo:

What's next?
