Hi,
Just wondered what percentage of Lexus folk are going for a chosen reg' to finish off their car (or maybe you aren't fussed).

Its the car I am interested in and not the number. The only thing with plates is that I like to see them in first class condition not faded or with water marks.
Put me down as ' not fussed'

Because my damn parents did not give me a middle name it makes it kind of pricey when looking at plates with just JW on them. Therefore, I either have to give myself a middle name for the sakes of finding a registration plate that doesn't cost more than the car or try and find one on a different theme. I'm a bit reluctant to get anything Lexus or GS300 related cos I like the idea of taking my plate with me when this car eventually goes to it's next lucky owner. While on holiday in Cornwall a few years ago, I spotted a few Germans looking a bit lost in guess what..............a PEUGEOT 106?????? Their registration would have suited me down to the ground, it was G0 somenumbers JW. Is there a law to stop you having a foreign plate? Someone I used to work with had a car from the Isle of Man that had a weird plate on it.

Personalised using the wifes initials! She has 3 initials and I have 4, so it wouldn't work for me and this way, there are few arguments about just HAVING to spend that extra bit of cash to make the car look good
Our 'fleet' all have similar plates, so it is also a bit of a 'pose'.

was thinking about personalised, but then I realised I was 2 months out as you cannot make the car look newer than it is. So am afraid it,s bog standard DVLA

It depends most of mine have had to go on retention first and that is £135 a go but for a simple swap it is much cheaper .The reason for so many cars is i get bored very easy but the lexus i like so might just hang on to it for a few weeks

but am very tempted to buy an evo or a skyline .Need more power

One of my Grandad's friends was filling up his Rolls Royce at a petrol station in London many years ago, when a fellow Rolls driver pulled up behind him. He'd been following my Grandad's friend purely because he wanted to buy the registration plate from his car. According to my Grandad, after a bit of negotiating, his friend agreed to let him have the plate, but only if it stayed on the car ie.swap Rollers as my Grandad's friend preferred the colour of this other chaps Roller

. The bloke agreed and they basically did a straight swap a few days later. My Grandad's friend did quite well out of the deal because his new Roller had less miles and was a better spec than his!
Just goes to show the lengths some people go to in persuit of vanity!

a mate of mine owns two plates (only one is on a car)
he owns P1 GFO and P1 GFU
so.....they spell......
P1G F O
and
P1G F U
he he - they do make me chuckle!! He bought them as an investment, and they're worth quite a bit now apparently. He's NEVER been stopped for them, though he does only have it on a new shape rover 200 (nothing special).
