Well folks, sad news....pretty sure my head gasket has died. What started out as a misfire has turned into coolant in cylinders 5 & 6. I replaced plugs, leads, dizzy & rotor but after 30 secs of running its like its firing on 2-3 and plugs show coolant :( Wont be fixing it straight away but will more than likely be looking to rebuild it with a friend. We have done other engines, vauxhalls, bmw's and a nissan so have a good idea whats involved. What i could do with is a .pdf or downloadable Toyota engine workshop manual. Does anybody know where i can get my mits on this? I have similar manuals for my MR2 and find them pretty good so hope to get some more for this car.

Car is a 97 mk1 GS JZS147 with the 2JZGE, so N/A Supra engine manuals would be fine too. Mainly for a rebuild guide, torque settings etc etc.
Any help is much appreciated guys, Cheers

If you can PM me a postal address, I'll stick my PDF on a CD for you and post it. it is 57 meg so too large to email.

Yeah mk2 is vvti, would just confuse me trying to compare to the earlier engine lol. Thankyou though.

Not sure if this will help too mate, click me! theres quite a bit of info on the different models like the GS300, LS400, SC430,etc,

You might have to search through different parts to suit the vehicle your after, but thought it might come in handy as a bit more info always helps :)

Doh ! Sorry, I saw that was for 97 onwards so I assumed it was the right car, without checking the Mk I/II thing :tomato:

Not a problem. Thanks for your input lads :) Tigerfish should be sorting me out with the engine manual now
