As title guys - I am looking for the bypass cable for charger. Chris - (aztecbandit ) tells me that TTE have them in stock but I have not had any reply from them at all.

I know someone got one made up at a bike shop and would do that but don't have the spec , size, length diameter etc .

Any assistance appreciated since I now have a buyer for my starlet so need to get the charger kit on asap..and its still sitting in a box in my living room.

Cheers

Kev

u will not get the cable at a bike shop.... what u will get is the actual inner and outer cable but not the end that has the spring - and u need this for the cable to work properly.

try tte again or bermani ch as they made the kit in the first place.

Hi Rob , thanks for reply . I should have said I already have the spring part - it seems to be the one pictured on this thread.

http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...9&hl=spring

So it is just the cable I need but don't know what to ask for at bike shop.??

Tried to look at Bermani website but the English version doesn't seem to work and my German is sadly limited to a few choice phrases which are only of use in a beer kellar...

I know Besty (old member) got one made up at a bike shop, he took his old cable into the shop to see what they could do for him (if anything) and from what Besty told me, they made or found him one the same size for only a few £s

TTE do have them, but it was something like 40+ euro's
Asi
Gord was wondering if you could find me one aswell mate

no - the other end of the cable has a long spring thats the bit that u will not get in a bike shop...

if u take a broken cable to a bike shop then they will re use the main parts.. which it appears is what u have had done..

Has anyone got a pic of the other end that Robs talking about ?

Asi - whats wrong with your one mate ? Might be an idea if I could perhaps borrow it and go down bikeshop , get two made- one for me and freebie for you for your trouble ??

Gord - yes mate TTE apparently do have them and think from memory Chris said about 28 euros plus vat plus delivery -which I dont really mind paying but they are not responding to my emails- anybody got a better email contact with them than the generic one on their site?
Rob
open your bonnet and have a look at where the cable attaches to the throttle body and u will see the spring

Rob -you are getting me well confused mate - under the bonnet I cant see any spring. It is just the stock throttle contol lever ? I am not sure if the bypass cable that the charger needs actually replaces the existing cable -and if it does it would seem that it is only a simple 'round end ' connector that I am sure a bike shop could do. My problem is that i dont have any cable at all since it was not included in the kit I bought - was damaged in fire.
Heres some pics if that helps.

I know you offered me a fitting party a while back Gord and very kind of you too. Thinking its a bit much for you to travel all the way up here -again- so was planning on making the trip down to Charlesworth. - Have also decided to get water pump/timing belt and 50k service done along with new pads and maybe discs at the same time - just looking at discs/pads now. - Have already got front pads - going to try greenstuff ones and thinking mintex on rear.

Maybe get a chance to meet you when down that way ?

Just been reading through this thread as I've just bought a TTE charger kit which is missing this cable and the bypass valve bracket that sits on the side of the throttle body.

Since Toyota pulled out of F1 TTE has been completley liquidized and Pro-Lex who bought all TTE's remaining stock (Supercharger related) only have a couple of cradles left.

Does anyone have specs/sizes/measurements etc I can use to get a new one made up? Or if anyone's car is off the road for a short while, and I could borrow the cable to use as a mock up to get one custom made?

Any help would be awesome as my charger is useless without this cable :(

Thanks!

Dan :)
Asi
theres a company who does them. i think stav may have already told you
Bounty`
If you're referring to Bemani? I've called them but the only guy who speaks english is both on holiday and no longer working there according to the two people who I spoke to :(

I'm going to call back next week and hope he's just on holiday.

Has anyone had one custom made and have any measurements etc? Ideally I could borrow someones to get some measurements etc so I can have an identicle one made?
steveboiboi
just wondering what this cable does?? from the name im going to have a complete guess and be totally wrong but heyho... does it basically disengage the supercharger?? so you can have it running or not? cheers hope the questions not to cringe worthy haha!

TTE's marketing and sales department doesn't exist anymore. But the techhies and engineers are still working in Köln. Here's their new website: http://www.toyota-motorsport.com/. I contacted them and they explained they don't deal with end customers anymore.

Dear Mr ...,

Thank you for your email.

However, I am sorry to say Toyota Motorsport GmbH cannot help you in this matter. We are no longer in a position to supply tuning products directly to customers. Please ask your Lexus dealer to contact Toyota Motorsport GmbH and order this part. Your Lexus dealer should call Toyota Motorsport GmbH on +49 2234 1823 0 in order to order the part.

I hope that will solve your problem.

Kind regards,
Toyota Motorsport GmbH"

You can't contact or deal with them directly unless you're a Lexus/Toyota dealer. I ordered a compressor bypass cable through the dealer (TeilNr. AM 27958 - cable, compressor bypass, spare - 36,34Eu). It arrived at my dealer a week later, price was only slightly higher. Still haven't fitted it though 'cause the old one isn't in too bad shape.

So for who needs TTE parts, don't give up!

Out of interest, how much did you pay?

Which dealer did you order this from mate, spoken to 6 dealers down here and not a single one has a clue about ordering from there, and they all refused to call the number for Toyota Motorsport and order it :(

I'll just order from the same dealer you did and get them to courier it to me :)
Dimitris Papamichail
You could also contact Bemani since they provide supercharger parts for ex TTE kompressor units
Bounty`
I've contacted Bemani, and yes I am able to get hold of this cable, but I've been quoted £225 for two cables and two brackets!!!

To the guy from Belgium: would you be willing to purchase two bypass cables and brackets from the Lexus/Toyota dealer that you got yours from and send them over to me? I will of course pay all shipping costs, and include a small fee for your trouble :)

Please let me know if this is possible.
