I am getting some strange noises from the auxiliary belt on my GS Mk2.

It started with a typical belt slipping noise, relieved with a spray of acf50, now the noise seems to be getting worse. First start in the morning is worst. The first thing I will try will be to tighten the belt .... but .... I have no idea where to start. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say you are looking at a new belt as the slack is taken up with a tensioner which you can't adjust

The alternator drive belt and tensioner on my GS 430 replaced FOC. I noticed a similar noise and took it to my Lexus dealer to be checked. Apparently there was a TSB about the tensioner so as they had to replace the tensioner they also replaced the belt. Don't know if it also applied to the GS 300 but worth checking into.

Regards Dave.

I'm with norlec and Dave, it is a tensioner that takes up the slack so unless the tensioner has gone pear shaped, you would need to change the belt.
