Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a knackered engine? I need a new sump so im looking for someone stripping an engine. My balljoint came off and when the car went down its put a massive dent in it. I was thinking of beating it out as its not leaking but they are really thin. It flexes when I put it with my finger.

Does anyone know if the sump on the IS200 is the same as the Altezza?

No it's not the same, sorry.

No IS200 has a different engine so the sump won't be the same... but you can get a new one from Toyota, i have the part no. if you want it?

maybe try and get a sump off an MR2, i'm fairly sure that the bottom end are the same :) no harm in trying ;)

Thanks for clearing that up. Looks like its Toyota main dealer then. If you give me the part number ill check with the dealer to see if they are the same. Probably be easier to get hold of a MR2 sump.

Thanks for the help.

Which bits of the sump do you need ? Full diagram and part numbers are here.

Similar engine to the MR2 but the sump is different, the oil pick ups are in different positions because the different layouts of the cars.

My car is using a moddified Altezza sump on a S3GTE engine from an MR2, to get the oil pick ups in the correct position.

I just need the bottom tray. part number 12102A. $240 is a bit steep for a thin piece of metal pressed into a pan isnt it.

Thanks for the diagrams

Can anyone recommend a sump gasket sealant. Toyota want £58 for the genuine one but ive seen Loctite high performance gasket for £15. It says it can handle temperatures of up to 200 degrees continously. Will this be ok or does anyone know of a better one.
