Hi all,
I'm going to LExus Canterbury tonight to show them my car. It has -what could be-a leaky clutch. (see my other thread).
The journey to my dealer is 2hour round trip and I've already been 4 times in 3 months so getting very annoyed with it.
Anyway - going to show them tonight. If they take the car in for a period of days, should I be elligable for a courtesy car? Also, would it be unfair of me to expect to leave my car with them until they can fix it and take away a courtesy car because I dont want to have to make the journey AGAIN to drop the car off when they can do it?
Oh, the car's under a 1yr dealer's warranty (manufacturers warranty ended in March)
Thanks for comments
Tony

If you're just expecting them to have one available then you may be disappointed - they may have all the courtesy and demonstrator cars booked out to other customers. If you arrange in advance then there should be no problem with getting one. I always get one from Reading if I'm prepared to delay my visit to when they have one available - usually 1-2 weeks. If not then they collect the car from my home and I work at home.

I can understand about them having one available.
That they collect the car from my home would work out for me.
To be honest I just wanted to check that I wouldn't get laughed at if I asked for one or pushed for one.
I'll see what they say and how they play it......if they want to take the car there and then cos they can do it (much better for me....want the car fixed) then so long as I get a lift home I'll be happy I guess !!
Does anyone on this board work at Lexus Canterbury ?

well this would be warranty work for a dodgy clutch (assuming it has a problem) so I'd have hoped so (assuming they have one available)
I'd have thougth it the other way around tho......for a service, no courtesy car, for problems/issues - you get one.

everytime mine has been in, service or warrenty work, as long as when you book it in you ask for a car, they will sort it out. As Java says, you may have to be flexible on the date.
They will also pick your car up and drop courtesy car off then if you like - again onlyif they have one avail.

I've always got a courtesy car even for them just to investigate problems.

I'm quite sure they dont do this because i asked when i bought the car and he laughed at me saying that would be a waste of resources (have to send out a driver and a car, normally driver goes by bus to pick up your car, or you drop off and pick up courtesy car, not both)

Tony they probaly will not drop of a car at your house or place of work .I take my car to tonbrigde and enquired about this and got a firm no and as they are the same dealer i would imagine the response would be the same .Is tonbridge not a bit nearer for you it takes about half an hour from my house you can get to it by going past paddock wood by the hop farm

hmmmmm.
I'll have to ask them tonight about courtesy car then (obviously depending on the result of the inspection!!)
as for tonbridge......i dont know. that's a good question.
how do you get there, as I dont know anything about that side of the county!!! (is it M20 way ??)

I've heard of a few dealers offering to pick up the car and deliver a courtesy car at the same time. Guess it saves having to send a second car out to drop a person off to pick yours up.
