oh.....and here's one thing you may not know about if you've not been to europe (quite genuinely not trying to take the mick here.....i know of many people who dont know what one is or how to use it)......
...roundabouts.
Yup - where you guys (americans) have 4-way stop signs, we'd have a roundabout. (bare in mind we drive on left hand side of road here) you basically have a circle in the middle of a junction, and you give way to whoever's coming from your right around the circle, then go when it's clear. (it's not like the US where you go in order of who arrived)
visit here to learn all about how roundabouts work (yes, this site really does exist !!)

a person from Liverpool is referred to as a "scouser".
(Liverpool is where The Beatles come from? I am named Matthew after Matthew Street - home of the Cavern).

Take a nice stroll (walk) down the pavement in England and the worst that could happen is that you tred in some chewing gum or dog ****.
Go for a walk down the pavement in the USofA and even if you manage to dodge the Dodge's and prance out of the way of oncoming Pontiacs, you'll still be arrested for jaywalking.
PS I notice that ***** is censored and even ***** (with a 1 instead of the I). If John Humphries is allowed to say it on the news STORY, isn't it about time that we all stopped living in the Victorian age for damn flipping botherations sake

Advance, below are some must know phrases in order not to embarass yourself.
"I am ******" (UK, meaning I am drunk) = "angry" (Yanks)
"****** off" in UK means "Angry" (Yanks)
"Shag" in UK means " to bone someone" (Yanks)
"Kerb" in UK means " a pavement" (Yanks)
Admin, please forgive me for the 3rd one. I just woke up with a massive boner, so couldn't forget that one.

That'll be 'petrol'. Short for Petroleum. A 'gas' is not a liquid. Petroleum is.
