Can anyone let me know what tyre pressures I should be running in psi

I have 18" 6 spoke alloys with 225/40/18 tyres.

When I got the car it had 40 psi in all four tyres.
I have reduced them to 35 psi but a freind of mine said it should 33 psi :shutit: :crybaby:

Any advice please guys

i think the majority are running between 33 upto about 36psi as you have said, so i came to the conclusion of running in the middle of that figure and i normally fill them up to either 34 or 35 depending what mood im in.

35psi- works well with the WIM setup.

Mind you I have the standard 17 inch alloys with 215/45/17 tyres and not 18" 6 spoke alloys with 225/40/18 tyres.

WIM- Wheels-in-motion, a geomerty specialist who has re-written the geometry settings on the IS200/300 to stop the front inside tyres from wearing out very quickly.

The early IS200's suffered from front inside tyre wear.

Hmmmmmnnnnnn................... intresting, have you had it done and if so how much?

My car is a 2003 model so do you think mine will need doing?

Costs about £100 for the WIM setup.

Worth doing even if your front tyres don't wear out very fast on the inside edges, as a geometry setup also improves the handling of your car.

Wheres the nearest WIM setup for the Northeast of England? or to be more precise Hartlepool... land of the monkey hangers and fake death canoiest

According to Tony @ WIM, should be using 35psi all round :)

And yes best off getting your geo checked by a reputable centre, and using the settings created by Tony as the original Lexus settings are incorrect and cause severe inner tyre wear. If you haven't had it so far you've been pretty lucky!
