Bonjour,

I'm just about to replace my Sony Ericsson T68i, and my heart is swinging between two choices, I know a few of you are addicted to GSM features, here we go :
Nokia 7650 or Sony Ericsson T800 ?
There is a diff between both in price, but Orange let me the 7650 at 200 euros and the T800 around 400 euros, is the 7650 worst a try ?

tks in advance for your advises

I am also replacing my T68, I'm going to wait for the T610. 13 days standby, 14 hours talk time. 65536 color screen, tri-band. Programmable in C++ and Java. Same size and weight as the T68.

I spoke to O2 select this morning and they currently have it down for sometime between middle of june to early july. so hopefully about 1 month to wait. Hoping its soon since my T68 is :tsktsk:

i went from the T68i to the Orange SPV.. windows OS which means you can do a hell of a lot of aftermarket 'mods' and add ons., GPRS, full HTML browsing, MSN, 128Mb SD storage card (watch movies) , camera, MP3 player etc etc..

Definitely buy the Erricson over the 7650.

I've just bought an NEC e606 on Three and it's fantastic!! :D
Everyone, ditch GSM and go 3G now - you know it makes sense!
It's so, so great!
Fidgits
Yes... go G3... how could you live without video calls?? and movies to your phone?
bloofire
I know it's great!

Hmm, being a hutch owned company, we've had these 3g nec's on the go for a while now ... Free to use too B)

Yes very clever an all that ... weather clips, bottom videos etc ... BUT ...
Now the novelty is worn off, they're just tossed aside because ...
Permanently on charge - sh1te battery life.
handset looks pretty minging and bulky.
menus etc are not at all intuitive, dead ends etc.
No other bugger has one so what's the point of a videophone

The saving grace is the ring tone that sounds like a bell ...
probably better described as a phone ringing in the matrix.

So, not really polished enough yet for general release imo ... flakey

Needless to say it's the directors and top brass who HAVE to have them ..
Obvious experts ? Some struggle with an office chair if it has levers :D

Maybe.... but, NO LINE RENTAL EVER!! Fantastic!

I have to agree about the battery life, mine seems to only last about 1 day.

We've got no line rental, no call charges, no download charges ....
so completely free ... (excepting the obvious - porn chat etc).

and STILL people aren't interested in using them ...
Kinda says something i think.

On the + side, coverage is better here than orange .. what isn't :D I think you've us to thank for there being 3 network in this area... we're positively bristling with hutch masts :D

Out of 3 coverage, it squats on O2 instead ....

Who do you work for Tony?

I'm a bit gutted now - just shelled out £200 for my NEC

PS. Got any spare phones with no call charges?!?!

Monster-Mat

I currently have both....the 7650 is a dream to use, buty then I've always preferred the nokia menu system-The PD800 sony/ericsson (as known here)is great for pda functions, and does offer better connectivity options also, but I do find the photo/Video/audio function on the 7650 to be better quality.
Users choice really...
