I know its been covered a billion times, used the search function, but just wanted to make sure that what ive found is correct.
my key snapped the other night, super glued it back together.ive bought a new blank and had it cut, but my concern is, that it has absolutely nothing in, no connection for a battery or anything, just a completely empty shell
if i now buy this key,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-TRANSPONDER-CA...id=p3286.c0.m14,
will it then just be a case of transferring the battery and transponder from the ebay key, then the buttons from my current key, into the newly cut key
Sorry again, just want to make sure so that i dont have to pay out for more because i got it wrong originally

If you've bought a blank and had the blade cut just transfer all the internals from your broken key to the new case, job done.

looked at doing that, however theres nowhere for anything to go, and be held down at all, if that makes sense??

Does it have holes for the buttons, a hollow centre and a tiny screw where the blade joins the body?

Good news, undo the tiny screw on both. take out the internals from your original key which includes the battery and slot it into the new one. The buttons will go into the holes, do up the screw and that's it. The screw holds it together and that's probably where the old one broke.

oh, ok, my current one is glued together at the moment, maybe the screw is hidden under the glue or something, ill have to have another look at the weekend...and keep some tape close by just in case, lol
thanks for your help

just found a couple of keys on ebay with transponder in them, is this a better option to buy and then just re-program??
