Hi all.

I'm thinking of buying a new IS200SE. Are there any differences between the newer models and models from a few years ago? or are they exactly the same?

I nearly went for one of the new 03 Avensis models as i think they're really nice but thought, what the hell i'll get one of them when i'm a little older

I have just exchanged my X reg IS200 Sport for a brand new one and there are a few differences:

Rear light clusters smoke not silver (except Platinum Ice)
Interior dash plastics softer to prevent glare and reflections
2 extra washer jets (6 in total instead of 4)
New shape spoiler on Sport with integrated brake light
Seats get piping around edges
Apparently my blue car is lighter in colour than the older ones?
Brake assist
To deadlock doors you have to press keyfob twice instead of once
Curtain shield front airbags

There are probably a few more but thats all I can think of ...

Cool. I see from the Lexus website that the satnav is also DVD based as opposed to CD-ROM based like the older IS. Is it the touch-screen version now or does it still have the IR remote?

still no steering wheel controls though for stereo/nav ... that's a real bummer


i'll probably be ordering in about 2-3 months if i decide to take the plunge, what's the lead time on new Lexuses? i've heard some 6month+ horror stories or were these just for imports?
