I have a mk1 gs 300 sport....... and I have to drive across europe in 3 days time (portugal to england) and a fair bit this time will be in the dark
can i just put on a set of 100w blue bulbs
will it improve my view significantly.............or just not bother
should i put in main beam bulbs the same
are the bulbs from a local "supermarket / motor factor" ok or are they special fittings
will i need to upgrade the fuse
i dont have much time to do it so just want an easy litle 5 or 10 minute job
thanks

100w might help, but blue certainly won't. White light is made up of all colours of the spectrum, so limiting the output of your headlights to just blue means you have *less* light, not more. Blue is a cold colour light and gives the impression of being brighter, but that is mostly psychological because generally we associate 'dim' with a yellowish colour headlight.
To be honest the car you have was purpose built to drive a couple of thousand miles in a few days, so use the standard ones unless you want to go to the effort and expense of putting HID bulbs in, which will probably take you longer than the 5-10 mins you want to spend.
